I have new construction with 2 bathroom groups that i'm planning on feeding with one supply and utilizing a hot water circulator. So here are the fixtures

Hall Bath:
Tub/Shower
Water Closet
2-Lavoritories

MasterBath:
Whirlpool Tub
Stand alone shower
Water Closet
2-Lavoritories

My plan was to run one hot water supply to the second story and branch off to the seperate fixtures, and pipe back to the hot water heater for a circulator. The length would be approximatly 50' from the water heater.

It will be copper pipe. 3/4" copper pipe will meet the code (illinois state plumbing code, which is real close to the standard plumbing code), but should i up it to 1"?

I planned on running 1/2" back down to the circulator.

The hot water pipe will be insullated.

I asked mainly about the hot water pipe since i know if the flow rate is too low there will be additional heat loss with the larger pipe. But opinoins on the whole thing would be welcome.

If i can figure out how to shrink the plans to an acceptible file size i will attach them to the thread.

Thanks
-Mike

3/4" will be more than enough. Remember, some of the fixtures you list use cold water only, and you will not be using all of fixtures that use hot water at the same time anyway although the whirlpool will need a healthy supply.
