I dont know alot about wells, but ours is acting like its running dry. We have had alot of heavy rain in the past few weeks here in Georgia and i'm starting to think that the well is tricking me. I was washing dishes last night and the water just faded away. The pump was primed and things were looking good until I came home to take a shower and after about 7 mins. the water faded again. it's pretty cold right now 17-25 degrees but if pipes were frozen i would not recieve any water from well right?

I don't think your well is dry! It could be a bad pressure switch. Where the pressure switch is depends on whether it's a Jet Pump (above ground) or a Submersible (below ground). If it's a Jet Pump, the Pressure Switch is usually on the pump motor. If it's a submersible pump, the pressure switch is usually near the pressure tank.

NOTE: In parts of Georgia, Ants or Pincher Bugs like to get in the pressure switch (where it's warm). They get between the electrical points when the points are open, then when the points close the bugs are trapped between the contacts (points), burning and insulating the contacts.

TO REPAIR: Turn off the power to the pump then remove the plastic cover on the pressure switch and clean out the bugs and clean between the contacts with an Emory board. . . or it's usually best to replace the Pressure Switch. Be sure to seal the pressure switch to prevent bugs from getting back in.

If your temperatures are below freezing, then I'm betting the 1/4" tube to the pressure switch has frozen, use a hair dryer to heat up the tubing, buy some heat tape to keep it from happening again.
