Pump overheats...

I have a FloTec, shallow well set-up and am experiencing extreme over heating...to the point where it softens any PVC fittings and makes them swell and eventually leak. I have replaced in line fittings with galvanized, but am thinking that the heat issue is not normal. What could cause that?

The pump is running without moving water to cool itself. Maybe your switch is set too high and that Big Box pump can't make that much pressure.

It could be the wrong pump for the application. Never match horsepower from a quality pump with a Big Box pump, they are not the same.
