I have a well pump that is not working and has actually been taken off - so when you turn the faucet on there is no water coming out - there is currently no heat on in the building - does no water coming out of the faucet mean that there is no water in the water tank to worry about freezing or just that there is no pump to circulate the water?

Thank you for any info! :)

You need to drain the tank. It is often below the faucets. Open all of the faucets and then try to drain the tank. It could still have water in it because air can't easily get into it above the water. Try to shake the tank and see if there is water.

If there isn't a drain at the bottom of the tank it will never drain.
