hi
this is my first post
i have done a search but didnt find what i needed
the probelm i'm having is my dishwasher is hooked up to the air vent ontop of the sink
the other hose goes to the garbage disposal. when i run the dishwasher the
water comes out of the top of the air vent
i replaced the air vent with a new one but it still sprays water out.
could it be the hose to the dispoal. should i change it?
any help would be appreciated
thanks
Don

Make sure the hose between the air gap and the disposal is not blocked.

The disposal comes plugged, and if you attach an air gap to it, you will need to pop out the plug.

hi
thanks for the reply
do you think it could be the hose that is plugged?
that goes from the air gap to the disposal?
when the dishwasher is draining you can see water going in the garbage disposal. i stuck my hand in the disposal it wasnt running :)( i know not a good idea) and the hole seemed to be plugged up with grim. i cleared that out the best i could but you cant see how bad it really is.
but it still has water coming out of the air gap.
the way i have it plumbed looks like the picture above^
thanks

I recommend that you remove the hose where it connects to the disposer and try from there to scrape and brush the gunk out of the opening. Any blockage in that opening will slow down the flow so that it backs up out of the air gap.
