I'm painting my basement walls and floors when I noticed a crack in the 45 degree angle on the 4" sewer line coming out of a wall , see pic
NOT SURE IF PIC IS SEEN So I'll decribe 4" sewer line comes out of stone wall about 6' up, runs straight out about 2 1/2' then 45degree down turn , straight pipe for 2' then another 45 to level off to area where it exits the home. Hope that works
Is it ok to cut the pipe that comes out of the wall, remove the faulty 45, install a pvc 45, a short lenght of pvc 4" and connect to existing 4" coming out of wall with a fenco(fernco?) fitting? I'm here in NJ:confused:

Yes cut your drain and do what you said. Don't use ferncos use mission couplings they are better, stronger, and in code.

p.s. Get a nice handy program called irfanview (http://www.irfanview.com/). It is the best picture tool I have used for wintrash. That is until I switched to GNU/LINUX.:D
