New Install is leaking PLEASE HELP!

So i remodeled a bathroom and had a "pro" install the tub faucet(connect all the copper) unit and when i finished the tile work i installed the fixtures myself. When the copper was sticking out of the wall i tested the faucet and it worked fine no leaks i could not test the shower head. Now when i turn on the water it works fine no leaks... .BUT when I pull on the faucet to make the water go to the shower head there is a BIG LEAK that i can see through the access door on the back of the wall. Now I'm wondering if there is something that I did wrong. I just cut the copper 2"(a hair shot 1-3/4 or so") from the wall and put on the faucet and tightened it. Could this be what is causing the leak or is it more internal?
The tub faucet is a kohler. and its the kind where one arm turns the water to hot and cold and on and off. Please help! Please tell me i dont have to rip out the new tile i just put in!

It maybey asolder joint that did not take on the shower riser,it could be that
the shower arm is cross threded.If you feel that you half to open up.

I'll post pictures as soon as i get the back wall off....

Check slip fit spout it may have something to do with your problem.
Could be that a part may be missing.or it did not seal properly.

cwhyu2, thanks for the help, i took the rest of the drywall off today and looks like the connection from the unit to the shower is leaking.... the part that you screw onto the copper. (it has 4 connections)
The "pro" is coming back out to tighten the connection hopefully that will solve it. I'm a little mad that I had to tear the drywall off inside the closet to get to it but i guess thats all i can do. again thanks for the help.

Better than tearing out tile.I hoppe it all works out.

There is no reason you could not have checked the shower before the wall was finished. All you had to do was turn on the faucet, after capping the spout and shower openings.

Lessons we learned the hard way. Check before covering! At least you found the problem before serious damage was done.

My leak was from improperly placing the tub spout on the nipple. Quick fix.
Next, trying to glue the fittings for the drain under the tub through the access hole working between a ceiling light below. That stuff solidifies and glues FAST...I dont think I got the exact seals I wanted but to date: 1+ years, no leaks (knocks on wood)
