Help! My wife bought a fancy Dornbracht faucet. It has some form of compression fitting to connect the water to the faucet. The compression fitting has 4 parts: a chrome external nut, a tapered brass inner compression ring, a rubber washer, and a very thin brass washer. My problem: Which order do these parts go together? Does the brass tapered compression ring go into the chrome nut first, or the rubber washer? Where does the thin brass washer go?

HELP!

could you post a picture of what you have? I'm not quite understanding it. Is it a kitchen or lav faucet? Sometimes you get "extra" parts with a faucet so you can use a couple of different variations of supply tubes.

It goes: Nut, brass beveled split waster (cone toward nut), brass flat washer, rubber washer.
