point well virgin

I have been using my point well (no idea how deep) consisting of a Flexcon industries Challenger Series 20 gallong tank and a Goulds 3/4 hp jet pump for 6 years. I used the system for my home until I connected to town water and now I only use it for irrigation for my lawn(2 years). Just recently I have developed a problem and since it always worked I never paid much attention to it and therefore know nothing about troubleshooting it.

the problem: irrigation turns on then once pressure declines the pump comes on and maintains pressure of around 35 psi and normal flow. after about 30 min the pressure drops to 10psi and there is very little flow.

Any ideas would be greatly apprecieated.

It sounds like your well doesn't have much water around it. Are you experiencing a draught in your area?

Not all shallow wells are created equal. I put one in back of my shop here in Florida. I let the landlord use it with my pump to water in some sod. It ran fine just like you discribed then slowly dropped off to nothing. It was rather dry around here at that time.
