I have 3 inch (copper pipe) drain for my toilet and the copper flange was secured to the plywood floor and there was tile put around the flange.
I am redoing my bathroom and want to add 1/4 hardibacker (cement board) and ceramic tile which I want to put under the flange. I don't want to tile around the flange.
So, between the hardibacker and the tile, it raises the flange about a 1/2 inch. Now the flange won't attach to the copper pipe.
Can somebody tell me what options I have?
I don't want to sweat out the copper pipe at the next joint because it is not readily assessible, and 3 inch pipe is very expensive and sold only in 10 lengths. I would need about a foot.
Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.
