Best sealant for high water pressure?

Question: What's the best sealant to use on 1"+ brass pipe threads when the water pressure is over 125 PSI?

Whatever you use on any pipe at any pressure. But brass being a soft metal can be harder to seal than steel pipe, but that is a function of the material not the sealant. Some oldtimers claimed that it was better to not use any sealant and let the brass "corrode" tight.
