I have searched in vain for a pull-out spout for my Grohe faucet. The faucet was purchased in 1999 and, evidently, the part has been discontinued. This brings me to my question - What brand could I purchase that would have available parts for at least 10 years? What would you, as a plumbing professional, recommend??

And if you know of a place that would stock any discontinued Grohe replacement parts please let me know. Thanks in advance for any information!

Do you have the part number? Did you try calling Grohe?

Delta comes to mind. Now days you should get Delta from a "real" plumbing shop, not a box store, as Delta makes cheapo models for them. There are probably other good quality brands that others will attest to.

I really like Delta's kitchen faucets. The "diverter" buttons on the pull outs seem better. I have one of the deltas with the hard plastic "switch" to change the spray patterns. My in-laws have the Grohe (over $300) pull out and they have the soft rubber "diverter" button - every one I've seen (no matter what brand) with the soft rubber seems to crap out, getting warped and generally looking like do-do after a year or so.

This is what I have except for the deck mounted version. http://i55.photobucket.com/albums/g142/FloridaOrange-Mach1/Misc/delta.jpg

Delta is the easiest to repair......so easy I saw a caveman do it once.

I sent email to Grohe and they have now replied. I need to find the part number and will look more tonight. This is a picture. You can see it is important I find the part. I've looked for another and finding something to fit this space and application will not be easy. I'll be sure to check Delta. I just think something like this should last at least 10 years.

For what you likely spent I should think so.

I believe the faucet you have is the 33 171 000 Europlus II and the faucet is discontinued.
I show the parts still available the pull out spray is a part number 46 433 000 and list price is $69.00 (sorry i have Canadian prices) and the hose is 46 104 000 and is $40.00.

You should be able to see the parts breakdown as well as the picture.
Also Grohe has a lifetime warranty if bought after January 1 1997 and you are the original purchaser

So close and yet so far - but thanks for your efforts too! Mine is an earlier model. This was ordered but mine is something like the Europlus instead of Europlus II. This end is a little over 2" long on top. Mine needs to be 3 1/2" on top and about 3" on the bottom. It looked good to me when they ordered but soon as I held the part I knew it was too small.

The next part ordered had a snubbed end and the spray regulator button on bottom.

I really need to find the documentation............

Maybe this will help.... http://www.simplykitchensinks.co.uk/specs/10/europlus.pdf It's a spec sheet from a european website but it may have the part numbers you're looking for. It says it's for the Europlus not the Europlus II.

I checked out that site - Thanks!! It's only for kitchen sinks. Although mine is in the kitchen (galley) it is a bathroom faucet. This is where the problem comes in with finding a new one. There are not many bathroom faucets that have the pull out spout, which is most helpful in the kitchen (galley).

I really need to find the documentation............

Down the thread a little, it looks like peanut has found your part. I hope so.

For the benefit of others reading, this points out the vital necessity of retaining the installation manuals which come with most faucets, and usually include parts lists. I realize that you like many others may not be the original owner, and such documantation has been lost, leading to the current frustrating situation.

If I were buying a new house, I would insist on manuals for everything, and if they don't have it, I would consider that a negotiating point for price adjustment.

My reply to that would be, "How badly do you want the house and do you have Internet skills?" Although I might knock off twenty dollars, or so, if they insisted. Many buyers change the faucets as soon as they move in. Price Pfister will send you a new faucet if parts from the old one are not available.

Couldn't agree more with the documentation issue. I have a folder onboard that *should* have everything. Seems this documentation ended up at the house. And it was the Chiara!!

Here's what Grohe had to say:
Since your faucet was purchased in 1999, that falls under our Limited Lifetime Warranty......so the part will be sent out at no charge. Any Grohe products purchased after January 1, 1997 have a lifetime warranty on mechanical parts for the original owner!!

My part is on it's way. I have a print of the specs to put in the file. Original records will be found at the house and moved onboard.

Thanks to everyone for your assistance with this!!
