My approx. 15 year old Kinetico Model 30 has started to continuously discharge. Temporarily, I have opened the bypass valve and shut the valve to the primary brine tank, do not know yet if that stopped the draining. But, I would really like soft water entering my hot water heater over the weekend, its Sat, we have not had to have any service on this since installation, the chance of any plumber coming out here to the boonies is remote - any suggestions on how to "unstuck" the regeneration cycle?

Thanks,

Amy

kinetico

They are water powered, so if the cycle did not finish, the water turbine must have stuck and as far as I know there is no way to advance it manually.

If this is all mechanical, can I take it apart and rinse out the water turbine?

Sorry, no one but a Kinetico dealer can fix a Kinetico because you can only get parts for them from a Kinetico dealer.

Using a Phillips head screw driver in the center screw on the dome shaped clear plastic top of the control valve and rotating it clockwise (to the right) steps it through the various positions of a regeneration back to Service. If so the water should stop. Or close the by-pass valves, that will stop the water flow.

Well, poop. I did all that. I guess 15 years with no trouble is pretty good. I'll call the dealer on Monday for a service call. Thank you for your suggestions.
