I have to decide between Toto Drake toilet & Kohler Wellworth today for my contractor. Doing 2 bath remodels - guest & master. I had decided on Toto Drake long ago from everything I've read, but my contractor's preferred supplier does not carry Toto products. Soooo....

Is there much difference between the 2 toilets?
Should I stick with Toto decision & push to try to find a local distributor?
Safe to order over internet for a toilet ??? (wish I were a WA resident!)
If I go with Toto Drake, should I splurge for CEFIONTECT if I can find it?

THANK YOU for any and all help. This is a great site. So glad I found it!

We are scheduled this week to remove four Kohler Wellworth toilets and replace them with Toto Ultramax with CEFIONTECT near Green Lake in Seattle.

The Drake is the two-piece version of the Ultramax.
I would expect that you can find local dears on the Toto website.

I'm not a big fan of shipping. Truck drivers can be careless.

CEFIONTECT is very nice though.

Thanks Terry! Shipping was a big concern for me using internet order too. I'll check for local distributor & stick to my Toto Drake decision then. Thanks again.

CEFIONTECT is better but alot of people think it self cleans and are shocked when it gets dirty.
I usually tell people its like a teflon frying pan versus a regular frying pan.
They both will get dirty but the teflon is easier to clean.

Good point. Since I'm replacing a 30-40 year old toilet, I'm familiar with a hard item to clean. The easier the better, in this book, since I will be the one cleaning! Thanks for thoughts.

Drake is beautiful

We picked it because of its quality, efficiency and since we have a 11.25 inches rough-in.
But we had no idea how good-looking it was until we got it at home.

It's so much more beautiful than the pictures on the Toto Web site!

The Draker is a Winner!

If I were you, I would go with the Drake. I've had mine since October 2005, and am completely satisfied with it. It's attractive, efficient (saved me $$$ in water and sewer fees), and I have not been able to clog it (not that I would want to). I have as much confidence in my Drake as I do with my 3 old fashioned 7-gallon gushers.

I bought my Drake based on comments from this site and from Terry's Low Flow Toilet Report. I would recommend it to anyone!
