vacation question

If I shut off my water heater for a week or so is there anything special I should do to it? And when I restart it anything special then?

Nope turn it off then on when you return.

Less hassle with lighting the pilot if you just turn the temperature dial to "vacation" or as low as it will go. Unless it is electric, in which case just turn off the circuit breaker.
