1. Any suggestions on a plumbing contractor to use in the Nashville, TN area?
2. So far, I have 3 bids.
- 1912.00 written
- 1500 - 1700 verbal
- 2990 written
* all 3 bids are for the same work. Why such a variance in price?

Do these prices seam reasonable, low, high?

Rough in 2 sinks, 1 toilet, 1 tub/shower, and 1 washer box. Contractor to supply materials except for... Tub/Shower, Diverter valve, Toilet, and Sinks.

Thanks. This site is very helpful. I look forward to your response(s).

The low bids might be from guys who don't know their true cost of business, and will be gone in year or two. Or the they could be honest bids and the high guy might be off. Who knows?

true extent of work to do

another possibility is that the true extent of the work to be done wasn't spelled out so clearly that everyone was thinking of the same things to do. All I saw above were two half-sentences. One or the other quote might include higher standards for everything.

price

Unless the contractors are using "per fixture" pricing, where you are installing these items is almost more important than what they are. The difference in pricing is the contractor's true cost of doing business, and the time he thinks it will take. If the price does not include contingencies for possible unforeseen problems, you will start getting "change orders" as the work progresses and spacing conflicts occur between the plumber and the other trades. I will say that, from your brief description, all of the prices may be low.
