in my yard i have a 3' x 3' concrete slab. in the middle of the slab i a galvanized pipe 3" id. at one time there was a hand pump there. i removed the hand pump in an attempt to extract the water via an electrical pump. i dropped a line with a weight into the hole and from what i can quess the water table is about 30' and the bottom of the well/cistern/vault is 75'.
after doing a little reading and asking questions i am confused on just how i can get the water from the hole. it would be for outside use only, but i do want decent pressure as we will use for watering the garden, lawn, washing cars, the house, etc. i am not sure of the correct terminology but i believe i have a cistern, a large hole in the ground with a concrete lid. i had another one on the other side of the yard but i filled it in as the slab was cracking and i was afraid someone might fall in. could someone give me advice on exactly what i would need to accomplish my objective, and a rough on what the cost would be?

The one you filled in was probably a cistern tank. The one that is 75' deep and 30' to water has got to be a well. The well may not produce much water, so they pumped it into the cistern a little at a time. Then the water could be pumped out of the cistern as fast as it is needed. You need a small diameter submersible or a deep well jet pump to get water from 30' or deeper. Then you need to test the well to see how much water it will make.

he can help you with the equipment and pricing.
