Anti siphon sill cock in garage

I had an anti siphon sill cock in my garage, I grew tired of cleaning up water every time I used it so I replaced it with a standard sill cock. Is this a code violation? If so how can I make it right without having water on my garage floor?

Anti siphon hose bibs are used when hoses are attached to domestic water supply lines and prevent possibly contaminated water from the hose from reaching the water in your home. They are not just a bureaucratic whim.

Yes I am aware of the reasons for their use, but I also would like a dry garage, is there a way to stop that?
