Adding washer to half bath

I have a tri-level house, on the bottom level, there is a 3 inch main stack a foot away from a 2 inch secondary stack. The main stack is for the bathrooms upstairs. The secondary stack is for the lower level half bath. The toilet is vented in the back(heel outlet) but drains from the front (we think it later ties into the main drain). The main drain “Y†off to the right somewhere to the sewer:

Questions

1)How can we tie the washer into the main drain. The drain is running next to a wall, what is the best way to cut into the drain? How wide and where should the openning be inorder for the plumber to make connection?
2)The washer is 9 feet horizontal and 4 feet vertical away for the 3 inch drain. Is it vent? If not, how can we vent it?

Looks like the line you drew is a lot less than 9 feet. You need a vent. How is the existing toilet vented in the half-bath?

The toilet and sink are vented in the back(heel outlet)off of the 2" stack, but drains from the front. The house was built in 60's.

post a picture of the floor and wall, where the drain pipe is. Somebody will help you figure out what to do with your floor.

the vent from the toilet side has to get a new connection at ceiling level and this connection crosses over, inside the ceiling, and comes down behind the Washing machine where it receives the washing machine waste that will have already gone through a P trap and a standpipe.

The 2" washer waste line can come off the main 3" line with a wye fitting.
The trap and standpipe can be 2"
The vent for the washer can be 1-1/2"

The washer trap should be above the floor.
