Removing sediment from Pressure tank

One of my pressure tanks is a vertical model that came from some folks who had cast it aside in favor of a new one after not understanding how a bladder tank even works, and its port was at the top. I cleaned it out by rolling it around and flipping it top-to-bottom-and-back-again while "shocking" its interior with the expansion and contraction of a few hot-water soaks followed by cold rinses. Along with that, I did a little scraping inside the port to remove a buildup of scale. But, and depending upon what kind of sediment you might actually have, maybe there is some kind of mild acid you could use to do a more effective job.
