New problem...clogged pipe

Well, it wasn't the wax seal afterall...turns out the pipe is clogged somewhere and that is what is causing the leak. Plunger and auger didn't work. I guess its too far down. Can I do this myself, or is it time to call a professional?

Routing a pipe can be dangerous and is messy. Proceed at your own risk if you don't want to hire a pro. Yes, you might be able to do this, but renting the right equipment and knowing how to use it is not cheap, either.

As to the leak, if the seal is good, regardless of whether there was a blockage, it should not leak at the seal. It could overflow the bowl, but shouldn't leak. Make sure when you put the toilet back down that it does not rock at all. In fact, you might want to just leave the toilet off, since it is a good location to start the drain cleaning.
