Center line of drain stub is 17 1/2 " below bottom of counter top. Using a 9" deep undermount SS sink and a 444 Insinkerator disposal, the center line of the disposal outlet will be about 16 1/2" below the bottom of counter top. Attached to the disposal outlet would be the tail pipe, the length of which, from centerline of disposal outlet to bottom of tail pipe, is another 4". I assume you would then attach the trap and come back up to the drain stub.

Disposal was existing, but haven't purchased the sink yet. Do you think a 9" undermount will fit, or will the disposal outlet be too low?

Thanks for any help

You need to look at the stub out for your drain coming out of the wall. The stub out will need to be at least 16 1/2†blow the bottom of the counter top according to what you’re telling us.

This is a single bowl sink. 9" deep. According to disposal specs. outlet will be 16 1/2" below counter top. Center line of drain stub will be about 17 1/2" below counter top...about 3/4" to 1" lower than disposal outlet, center line to center line. From what I'm reading, this should be OK, is this low enough?

Thanks

ok, I just re-read and the lightbulb above my head came on.....you're taking your measurements from the counterTOP.....
I guess the reason I'm so slow on this (besides the cold meds) is because I typically measure drains, waterlines, etc from the floor UP.....not the top DOWN. lmao

As long as your drain coming out of the wall is lower than your garbage disposal outlet then you're fine. Make up any differences you need to in the tailpiece.

Dang.....I've gotta get off these meds.
