Installed a Toto Drake a few months ago. It's now using far too much water to refill. The fill hose is filling into the overflow pipe. I tried moving the hose to fill directly into the tank and it uses one fifth of the water (timed) but the bowl ends up with almost no water. I don't remember the toilet with so little water in the bowl and I don't think anyone had moved the hose and clip. Problem with toilet or memory?

PJ,
The tank and hose should look like this.
The black hose fills the bowl after the flush.
Most toilets are plumbed this way, there are a few exceptions.

If it's taking 3 minutes, I would replace the fill valve.

Three minutes is way too long for this toilet.
check the flapper too.
Turn the water off to the tank and see if the water level drops in the tank.
If the water level drops, you will need to fix that first.
If it takes three minutes to fill the tank, the water may not be coming out of the fill valve at the bottom. If those ports are blocked, then you will be wasting water.
Fill times should be something like 40 to 60 seconds.

Thanks for the quick reply! When clipped on properly, as you show, The tank fills very very slowly. It takes five times as long and uses fives time the water before the tank is full as when the water goes directly into the tank and not through the overflow pipe. Possible causes? The flapper valve looks like it seats just fine.

Toto Toilet Run On Problem

I have 3 Toto toilets in my house that have been working well for 2 years
now. One of them has recently developed a run on problem. When I flush the toilet, it will continue filling water past the overflow and run on until I
manually open the tank and push the inlet valve mechanism back towards the
flush handle and then it will shut off. This problem started out sporadically
but is happening now with greater frequency. What should I do?
