We recently laid a floor tile. We had a plumber raise our flange, but I'm concerned he didn't do it correctly.

Our flange is unlevel and low. Now that the floor is in, the left side of the top of the flange is about 1/2" above the floor and the right side of the flange is (at best) 1/4" above the floor.

Is this high enough? If I throw down the wax ring, will that make up the difference when it time to set the toilet down?

Assuming I did things properly, you should be able to see picture of my flange here:

Thanks for all your help!

I assume by the fact you are questioning the way your flange is setting that you are concerned about it and rightly so. A flange is supposed to set firmly on top of the finished floor which means it is supposed to be level as well. Wax rings are not intended to compensate for improper flange placement. It is my opinion that you would be wise to get the plumber back to redo the flange.

Many of the toilets will not fit if the flange is that high on that one side. The guy should be ashamed of himself if he calls himself a pro for that sloppy work.

If a plumber and a tile man were working together, the tile should have been set in place so the flange could rest on the finished tile floor. Unless there is more to know, I think they both did you a disservice. Or did you tile the floor and then got the plumber to jack the flange up?
