Odd PVC cementing question

Is there any product that will glue a pvc coupling to a wooden rod inserted into it?

The coupling/rod won't be under any much physical torque or stress, so it doesn't have to be SUPER strong...

Construction adhesive ( e.g., liquid nails); epoxy; JB weld, probably Gorilla Glue.

If Gorilla Glue won't hold it, nothing will. That stuff is a b***h if you get it on you fingers, but it's the most effective glue I've ever used.
