We are doing some bathroom remodeling. One of the projects is switching the plumming fixtures from brass to the newer brushed chrome look.

Our fiberglass jacuzzi style tub has a brass collar drain and "push to close" plug that we want to replace. Can this be removed from the "top of the tub? Does it unscrew? Access to the underside of the tub, even though it is upstairs is very difficult if not impossible.

Thank you,

Yes they unscrew from the top. Can be easy. If is is old and the crossbars break, you will need an internal pipe wrench.
Be sure to install a new gasket....it goes on the underside of the tub, but you can slip it through the hole.

Great, I thought so but wanted confirmation from someone who knows.

Thank you very much.
