I have taken your recommendation for the Delta 1700 series. Does it hold true for the models with:

Separate volume and temperature controls for maximum comfort. Handle adjusts volume; dial on handle controls temperature.
Monitor® Scald-Guard® valve keeps water temperature within +/-3ºF.

Is it less reliable than the standard 1700 models?

Are the repairs more expensive or difficult?

Are there flow volume issues?

Is there a better choice if you want volume and temp control?

Any comments or recommendations would be appreciated.

Also, can anyone explain the difference between the T1700 valves and the standard 1700 valves?

Thanks
Tom

delta 1700

what exactly do you need to know??

the 1700 has a lever handle that youi adjust the volume with

and a silver dial on the front of it that you adjust the temp..
and under this silver dial their is a cam that will limit what the
highest temp the faucet can go to , mine is set on very hot.......

the 1700 it is about the best you can install

I dont know what you mean by the monitor A valve
if it is the 1700 that might be another name for it

if it is a 1400 valve it is jsut a low end delta faucet used
mostly in apartment complexes.......

I have no idea what the other numbers stand for
with this faucet , it might have something to do with
the packageing or trim kit that comes with it...

The 17..T models use thermostatic control for scald protection, as opposed to pressure balancing. All 1700 series have separate temp and volume controls, which is a very desirable feature.

Thank You,

It appears that they all use the R10000-UNBR valve and functionality can be changed with the cartridge?

I am not sure if I see an advantage to the T series. Looks like the standard 1700 in chrome is the best deal.

Is there any feedback on the 1800 series with the jet components?

Thanks Again
Tom

1700

T is thermostatic which some people might like rather than the temperature adjusting knob. I have not seen any yet, and was told they were a still a year away from production.

T1700 is not thermostatic. It is the trim only number, which you would use with the r10000 series valve. The plain 1700 numbers are how Delta used to sell their shower faucets, with valve and trim included in one part number.
