Water Heater pipes rattle.

Hi,
When ever we run the hot water in our house the pipes will rattle for about a minute. For instance...when I take a shower...after I am done the pipes by the hot water heater will rattle. Any ideas on why this is happening and how to fix it?

This sometimes happens when a valve is not fully open. Check that the valve on the water heater is opened all the way.

Since you say that the rattling happens when you are done using hot water, and since it continues for a minute, I am betting it is due to water expansion in the tank. Do you have an expansion tank? If not, you may need one.
