I am installing a new bathroom in the basment. All of the piping is CPVC. I was going to cut in two cut off vaules outside the bathroom on the hot and cold side. However the ones I picked up are made of CPVC/plastic and I am having second thoughts about them. All of the valves I have ever used were brass.

They are 3/4 stop and waste vales, manfufacturer rates them for hot and cold water but no pressure rating. They are made by American Valve.

They have a tendency to snap/break when you need to turn them off years later due to buildup in the gland where the ball swivels.

If you turn them off and on every once a month you'll have a chance of them lasting maybe 9,10 years tops.

Thanks for the input. Since posting and doing more reading it sounds like I should go with ball valves instead.
