I went to a business today there urinal was overflowing. I shut the water off and cleared it with my auger. I then turned the water back on and it's shooting a stream out the shut-off. It's a sloan valve, I tried wide-open and tapping on it with a screwdriver but it's still shooting a stream. I shut it off and told the guy we would have to get to it tommorrow. I didn't have any parts for one of these and no supply houses open today. Any advice?

Go to the supply house tomorrow and get rebuild kit for the handle and if that doesn't work you can rebuild the handle and valve.

Cass... it's the shut off valve, not the flush handle. I've had the same problem. There are a couple of different types so you really need to know what the shut off looks like. Most Ace Hardwares around here have parts for them. I do a little commercial repair and try to keep a set of sloan repair parts for toilets & urinals. I would probably go ahead and rebuild the whole thing. It would be a few dollars extra but would be saving the customer a couple of calls and lots of money in the long run.

Your right, I only had a few hours sleep and it is catching up with me. I was thinking handle.

The valve is called the bak-chek or something like that. It's a cinch to rebuild. Unscrew the nut on the front of it, pull the guts out, insert the new guts and you are good to go. Most supply houses stock it, ******* carries Zurn stuff, which is compatible with Sloan. You need to shut off the water supply to the flushometer first.
